Who is Srinivas Lewis who threatens to bomb schools every now and then?

Delhi Police has arrested a person from Mysuru district of Karnataka who threatened to bomb schools and courts. The name of the arrested youth is Srinivas Lewis. He is accused of issuing threats to bomb schools, courts and government offices. The age of the person is 47 years.

He was arrested from his rented house on Saturday under a joint operation of Delhi Police and local police. Srinivas had repeatedly threatened schools. There were several sudden threats to bomb the Assembly, schools and courts in Delhi. Now the police has caught the accused.

Who is Srinivas Lewis?

Lewis has studied till post graduation. He is a resident of Bengaluru. He is currently unemployed and lives with his mother. Lewis’s mother is a retired government employee. He is NET qualified, has studied law. He has also been an Assistant Professor by profession.

Hurt by his father’s lack of justice in a land dispute, Louis had sent these threats to the courts. Srinivas Lewis lives in a rented room with his elderly mother in Mysuru. Bomb threat emails were being sent from his phone to the High Court, Supreme Court, schools and government offices across the country. Some of these emails were also sent to places in Pakistan.

What are the police saying?

Louis has taken this step due to his father not getting justice in the family property dispute. His father continued fighting in this land dispute throughout his life. Even when he died, justice was not given. This incident filled Louis with deep anger. He himself studied law, cleared NET and also worked as an assistant professor, but inside his anger kept increasing.

The accused made full use of his legal knowledge and technical skills. He sent most of the emails from his mobile phone, but kept dodging the police for a long time by hiding the IP address.

What types of emails were sent?

The emails were written in English and Kannada. Were sent to many places simultaneously. According to Delhi Police, Lewis was repeatedly changing houses due to fear of arrest. The police team traced his location and arrested him from Mysuru. At present he has been sent to police custody for six days. The investigation team has seized the phone.

Why was he threatening?

Police say that initial investigation indicates that he may be under mental stress. During initial interrogation, the accused has confessed to sending the mails through email and other means. Police say that FIRs have been registered in many states.
