Recently MCA President Ajinkya Naik held an important meeting with top officials of Maharashtra Urban and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO). The main agenda of this meeting was to discuss the availability of land and resources for the construction of a state-of-the-art cricket stadium with a capacity of one lakh spectators in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
In his statement, Ajinkya Naik called it a ‘decisive moment’ for the sports world of Maharashtra. told. He said that this stadium will not only carry forward the cricketing legacy of Mumbai but will also give Maharashtra a new identity on the global sports map.
Ahmedabad’s ‘Narendra Modi Stadium’ will face competition
Currently the largest cricket stadium in the world is Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, which has a capacity of about 1.32 lakh. This new proposed stadium of Mumbai will be among the top grounds in the world in terms of capacity. Currently, the capacity of Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai is around 33,000, which falls short during big matches. With the construction of the new stadium, not only will more fans be able to watch live matches, but it will also prove to be a great venue for big events like IPL and World Cup.

What is the master plan of Mumbai Cricket Stadium?
