A world-class cricket stadium to be built in ‘Ya’ city of Maharashtra

Navi Mumbai Cricket Stadium | There is a big craze for cricket in our India. People literally fill stadiums to watch cricket matches. Cricket is as important as religion in India and Mumbai is considered the cradle of cricket. Mumbai currently has 3 cricket stadiums namely the international standard Wankhede Stadium, Brabourne Stadium and DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. But now another new cricket stadium is going to be built in Navi Mumbai. So this is a great news for Mumbaikar cricket lovers.

The process of acquiring the required land for the project has been expedited and preliminary level discussions are underway between MCA and CIDCO. MCA President Ajinkya Naik has held several meetings with CIDCO Managing Director Vijay Singh and expressed hope that a suitable plot would be found soon.

Currently Wankhede Stadium is the main international cricket ground in Mumbai. However, due to the capacity of around 33 thousand spectators, many fans do not get a chance to watch the matches. Therefore, the need for a new stadium with a large capacity has been felt for the last few years. It was against this backdrop that Chief Minister Fadnavis in a program in May 2025 assured the MCA in clear terms that if the association submitted a suitable proposal, the state government would provide them with a suitable site for a grand and large stadium.

Meanwhile, MCA President Ajinkya Naik will soon meet Chief Minister Fadnavis and further steps will be taken to finalize the project and speed up the process. After the construction of this cricket stadium (Navi Mumbai Cricket Stadium), Navi Mumbai will emerge as an important cricket center at the international level. Also, local economy boost, job creation and sports tourism are expected to be of great benefit
