Was PM Modi aware of Iran attack during Israel visit? Government’s clear answer in Rajya Sabha

Tezzbuzz Desk – The Government of India has clarified in the Rajya Sabha that during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent visit to Israel, there was neither any discussion nor any such information was shared regarding any possible attack on Iran.

This information was given by Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh in a written reply to an unstarred question. The question was raised by Abdul Wahab, asking whether the government had prior knowledge of the attack on Iran.

Government’s clear answer

The minister clarified that the Prime Minister had no prior knowledge of this attack. He said that PM Modi had visited Israel on 25-26 February 2026 at the invitation of the Prime Minister, but there was no discussion regarding regional attacks during that time.

What issues were discussed?

During this visit, important agreements were signed between India and Israel on cooperation in areas like Artificial Intelligence, Cyber ​​Security, Agriculture, Education and Digital Payments.

The government also said that India is constantly monitoring the situation in West Asia. Since the beginning of the conflict, PM Modi has been in constant touch with the leaders of many countries.

The Prime Minister has discussed the situation by talking to leaders of many countries including Iran, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, United States. Apart from this, constant diplomatic contact has also been maintained at the Foreign Minister level.

According to the government, till now the safe return of about four and a half lakh Indians has been ensured. Besides, special arrangements have also been made to maintain energy supply in the Gulf region and for safe movement of ships.
