Ram Vilas’s son Chirag and brother Pashupati Paras had formed separate factions. At that time LJP had a total of 6 MPs. Except Chirag, all the MPs came in support of Paras and Pashupati Paras became minister at the Center in place of his brother Ram Vilas. Chirag had separated from NDA.

Chirag returns to NDA before Lok Sabha elections

Chirag Paswan returned to NDA before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Paras had resigned from the post of Union Minister. RLJP, the party of Paras’ faction in NDA, was sidelined. In the last Lok Sabha elections, Chirag’s faction LJP (Ram Vilas) was given 5 seats, while RLJP remained empty handed.

Later Pashupati Paras broke ties with NDA. RLJP contested the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections by staying away from the alliance, but could not win a single seat.
