KKR vs SRH Highlights: Kolkata Knight Riders continued their losing streak as they hosted Sunrisers Hyderabad at Eden Gardens. The Orange Army, after suffering a tough defeat in their opening game against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, bounced back with a massive 65-run win in Kolkata. It was a repeat of the 2024 IPL final, but the Orange Army took their revenge thanks to some incredible batting performance.
SRH batters return to form at Eden Gardens
Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head, after a disappointing performance in the previous game, announced themselves as a solid opening pair. The two left-handed batters provided a powerful start at the top of the batting order. Head scored 46 runs in 21 balls while Abhishek returned with 48 off 21.
Heinrich Klaasen built on his performance from the previous game and scored a half-century against the Knight Riders. The South African batter scored 52 runs in 35 balls before Nitish Kumar Reddy provided the finishing touches with a 39-run 24-ball knock.
Abysmal bowling from KKR
KKR’s poor form with the ball in hand continued in their second game of the season. The three-time champions, after failing to defend 220 against the Mumbai Indians, conceded 226 runs against the Orange Army.
Blessing Muzarabani gave away 41 runs while picking up four wickets. Vaibhav Arora, Kartik Tyagi, and Anukul Roy were among the wickets as well. Among the bowlers who bowled all four overs, Sunil Narine was the most economical, giving away 39 runs in his quota.

Comical running between the wickets from Angkrish Raghuvanshi stole the spotlight. The young Indian batter was involved in a mix-up that resulted in IPL 2026’s most expensive player, Cameron Green, being run out. The Australian was dismissed after scoring only two runs in two balls.
Interestingly, Raghuvanshi was later dismissed via run-out as well.
KKR vs SRH: Nitish Kumar Reddy with a match-winning performance
Nitish Kumar Reddy was named the player of the match for his all-round performance. The 22-year-old played a crucial hand for the Orange Army as they won their first game of the season. In the first innings, he scored 39 runs in 24 balls, hitting four fours and a solitary six. With the ball in hand, Nitish Reddy picked up a couple of wickets while giving away 17 runs in two overs.
