Travel becomes expensive in UP: Toll tax increased on four expressways, new rates implemented
Lucknow. Now traveling on the expressway in Uttar Pradesh has become more expensive than before. With the beginning of the new financial year 2026-27, the government has implemented an increase in toll rates on the four major expressways of the state, Agra-Lucknow, Purvanchal, Bundelkhand and Gorakhpur link. These new rates have become effective from April 1, which will have a direct impact on everyone from common travelers to people associated with transport business.
Increased burden on vehicles of every category
The impact of the new toll rates is not limited to just cars or buses, but has been increased on all categories from two-wheelers to heavy vehicles. Although the rate of increase varies, overall drivers of all categories will now have to pay more than before.
A minor increase has been made for vehicles like two-wheelers, three-wheelers and registered tractors, which will have a mild impact on rural and small scale commuters. At the same time, toll has also been increased for light vehicles like cars, jeeps and vans, due to which the impact on the pockets of daily commuters will be clearly visible.
How much have the toll rates increased?
Highest increase on Agra-Lucknow Expressway:
Two-wheeler/three-wheeler/tractor: Increase of ₹5
Car/Jeep/Van: Increase of ₹10
Light commercial vehicles/mini buses: Increase of ₹10
Bus/Truck: Increase of ₹50
Multi-axle vehicles (3-6 axles): Increase of ₹65
Oversized vehicles (7+ axles): Increase up to ₹85
Purvanchal and Bundelkhand Expressway:
Bus/Truck: Increase of ₹15
Multi-axle vehicles: Increase of ₹10
Oversized vehicles: Increase of ₹15
Gorakhpur Link Expressway:
Two-wheeler: Increase of ₹5
Car: Increase by ₹10
Bus/Truck: Increase of ₹5
Oversized vehicles: Increase of ₹10
Agra-Lucknow Expressway
Car: ₹675 per round
Bus/Truck: ₹2150 per trip
Heavy vehicles: up to ₹3290
Oversized vehicles: Up to ₹4230
