New trend of extra marital dating in India

Shocking data of Gleadon App

Extra marital dating app Gleedon has recently presented a shocking figure regarding the number of its users in India. The total number of users on this platform has now exceeded 40 lakhs. Especially the number of women has increased by 148 percent, which has been seen in the last two years.

Men’s faith in marriage may waver

According to Gleedon data, of the total users, 65 percent are men and 35 percent are women. Most of them are already married or in a long-term relationship. Bengaluru has emerged as the largest city of this app, where there are 18 percent users. This is followed by Hyderabad (17 percent), Delhi (11 percent), Mumbai (9 percent) and Pune (7 percent). Its popularity is also increasing rapidly in tier-2 cities like Lucknow, Guwahati and Bhubaneswar.

Why are women joining this app?

In today’s fast paced life, many people are unable to find time for themselves. According to the Gleedon and IPSOS survey of 2025-2026, 33 percent of people feel short of time. Emotional connection reduces between job race, family responsibilities and domestic pressure. In such a situation, people are looking for a little thrill and understanding on digital platforms.

On average, users spend 60 to 90 minutes chatting every day. Lunch breaks and midnight hours see the highest activity on the app, indicating that people are sneaking in connections even in their busy schedules. Gender stereotypes are now breaking. Earlier it was believed that only men were involved in extra-marital affairs, but now this perception is changing.

According to the data, about 43 percent men and 42 percent women accept outside emotional or physical relationships. Women are now taking decisions themselves. They want stability and security in their main relationship, but are looking for adventure and emotional satisfaction elsewhere.

Impact of social media and connectivity

The convenience of social media and the Internet has made it easier to form external relationships. More than 60 percent of people consider the ease of flirting online as a major reason for the increase in infidelity. These apps provide privacy, allowing people to express their needs without any fear. Marriage in India is still considered a sacred and lifelong bond, but busy lifestyles, financial independence and the pursuit of personal happiness are challenging the age-old rules of relationships.
