Mithun Chakraborty got angry on the allegations of propaganda on Dhurandhar 2, said if it is so then it should not have been allowed to be released.

News India Live, Digital Desk: ‘Dhurandhar 2’, the sequel of Aditya Dhar’s much-awaited franchise ‘Dhurandhar’, is breaking all records at the box office these days. This Ranveer Singh starrer film has created a stir in the theatres, but amidst the huge earnings, the film is also facing criticism from a certain section of the audience. Some people have called it a ‘Propaganda’ film. Amidst this controversy, now veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty has come to the defense of the film and has given a befitting reply to the critics.

Example given from ‘The Bengal Files’

Recently, during a conversation with news agency IANS, Mithun Chakraborty supported ‘Dhurandhar 2’ while referring to his film ‘The Bengal Files’ (2025). He said that ‘The Bengal Files’ was based on the historical Noakhali riots that took place before independence, yet it was not allowed to be released in Bengal.

Mithun said, “‘The Bengal Files’ was not allowed to be released, what can be bigger than this? Now ‘Dhurandhar 2’ is also called propaganda, so you should have stopped that too? ‘Dhurandhar’ was released, and now you say that it is propaganda, but ‘The Bengal Files’ was not even allowed to be released. Bengal went against it and did not even allow the film to be released. What could be more sad than this?” He clearly believed that why allegations of ‘propaganda’ always surface only after the release of the film.

‘The film broke all records’

Praising Aditya Dhar’s direction and replying to the critics, Mithun further said, “So Dadagiri, say whatever you want, but ‘Dhurandhar’ broke all the records. So many people must have seen the picture. People from every sect have seen it, praised it, and this business of a picture happens only after watching it two-three times.”

Let it be known that before Mithun, veteran actor Anupam Kher and director Ram Gopal Verma had also strongly criticized those who called ‘Dhurandhar 2’ as ‘propaganda’.

The glory of ‘Dhurandhar’ franchise

‘Dhurandhar 2’ is the sequel to the 2025 blockbuster ‘Dhurandhar’, in which Ranveer Singh played the role of Hamza, who infiltrates a Baloch gang. In this sequel, the past story of Hamza (Ranveer Singh) is shown and under what circumstances Jaskirat became Hamza. Apart from Ranveer Singh, ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’, released on March 19, also stars Sanjay Dutt, R. Veteran actors like Madhavan and Rakesh Bedi are in important roles. While the first film had made a bumper earning of Rs 1300 crore worldwide, this sequel is also moving ahead rapidly on the same path.
