Earlier, passengers needed at least 24 hours notice to change boarding stations. This often made it difficult to cancel suddenly changed plans or change stations. But now this rule has changed. You can change your boarding station even just 30 minutes before. If you suddenly decide to cancel your journey or change the station for your convenience, it is now easily possible. This facility will enable passengers to catch a train from another station at the last minute. Until now, this facility was only available until the chart was created. Now, passengers don’t have to worry about losing their seats if they change their travel plans in time, making travel more convenient.
The changed boarding point will be updated in the second reservation chart. That is, you can make changes even before the train departs. Suppose your plan changes suddenly, if there is sudden traffic, such passengers will benefit from this new rule change. This facility is applicable on confirmed and RAC tickets only. Along with this, Railways has also updated the ticket cancellation rules. As per the new rules, a refund will be given only if the confirmed ticket is canceled at least 8 hours before the departure of the train. Earlier this time limit was 4 hours. But delay now may result in loss of deposit. The railway department is confident that this change will reduce the on-time rush and provide the vacant seats to the needy passengers on time.
