145 FIRs and 160 AAP workers arrested in three months, Kejriwal writes to Gujarat CM

Kejriwal said, the state government is targeting Aam Aadmi Party workers

New Delhi. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal has written a letter to Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel alleging planned action against party workers ahead of the local body elections in the state. He requested a meeting with Patel to discuss the issue.

In the letter, Kejriwal cited 145 FIRs lodged in Gujarat in the last three months and over 160 arrests, alleging that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led state government was targeting Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) workers.

He wrote that for the first time people have got a strong and reliable option in the form of you. People know that Aam Aadmi Party is a party of educated, fearless, honest and patriotic individuals, which will never compromise with BJP.

Kejriwal said that this is the reason why AAP’s popularity has increased rapidly in Gujarat in recent years and now there is widespread discussion that BJP is going to be out of power in the state and Aam Aadmi Party is going to form the government.

He accused the BJP of conspiring to weaken the party and erase its existence by arresting most of the AAP leaders and workers.

The AAP chief said that under this conspiracy, on the orders of the BJP government, in the last three months alone, 145 FIRs have been registered against Aam Aadmi Party workers in Gujarat and more than 160 workers have been arrested.

He claimed that there are plans to arrest 10,000 AAP workers in the state in the coming days. Kejriwal alleged that policemen were visiting the houses of AAP leaders and workers and threatening them with dire consequences if they did not leave Gujarat.
