Gucci Mane alleged kidnapping and robbery sparks multiple arrests of fellow rappers

Gucci Mane was allegedly kidnapped and robbed at gunpoint in a Dallas recording studio.

Federal authorities are accusing Pooh Shiesty, Big30 and others of orchestrating the attack.

The U.S. Department of Justice said nine people have been charged in connection with the incident with eight arrests carried out across Dallas, Memphis and Nashville.

According to federal officials the incident took place in January when three music industry professionals travelled to Dallas for what they believed was a business meeting.

Prosecutors allege Pooh Shiesty whose real name is Lontrell Denell Williams Jr. arranged the meeting under the pretext of discussing a recording contract.

Once inside the studio authorities claim Williams Jr. and several co-conspirators launched an armed takeover.

The DOJ alleges he pulled out an AK-style pistol and forced one victim to sign a contract release at gunpoint.

Others brandished firearms and robbed victims of luxury items including watches, jewellery and cash.

Investigators say one victim was choked to the point of near unconsciousness during the ordeal.

Meanwhile Big30 whose real name Rodney Lamont Wright Jr. is accused of barricading the door to prevent anyone from escaping.

Eight of the nine suspects were arrested on Wednesday in multiple cities.

Federal agents also executed a search warrant at a Memphis-area property linked to Williams Jr. according to reports.

The DOJ further claims that some suspects posted images of the stolen items on social media within hours of the alleged crime.

Williams Jr. had only recently been released from prison in October 2025 after serving time for a firearms-related offence.

At the time of the alleged Dallas incident he was reportedly on home detention with strict conditions prohibiting further criminal activity or possession of weapons.

Prosecutors also allege his father Lontrell Williams Sr. was involved in planning and executing the crime.

The investigation remains active with federal authorities continuing to pursue the remaining suspect. No trial date has yet been announced.
