Arms smuggling busted, 4 accused including Bihar supplier arrested, 10 self-loading weapons recovered

Punjab Police: In a major success as part of the campaign being run on the instructions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann with the aim of making Punjab a safe state, Patiala Police has busted the module by arresting four accused linked to the inter-state illegal arms supply module along with 10 modern self-loading weapons. This information was given by Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav here today.

The arrested persons have been identified as Saurabh Kumar resident of village Jarang Dih, Muzaffarpur (Bihar), Sajan resident of Sohana (SAS Nagar), Abhishek alias Kaka resident of Gurdeep Colony Ablowal, Patiala and Inderjit Singh alias Rohit resident of Old Bishan Nagar, Patiala.

plan to target rival criminals

DGP Gaurav Yadav said that preliminary investigation has revealed that the arrested accused used to bring country made weapons from Bihar and supply them for criminal activities in the state. He said that further investigation also revealed indications of gang war, whereby a plan was being made to target a rival criminal associated with the Goldie Dhillon network to establish dominance in the area. The DGP said investigation is underway to establish back-and-forth links in the case so that the entire network can be dismantled.

Desi self-loading pistol supply

Sharing details of the operation, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Patiala Varun Sharma said that police teams had received concrete information that Bihar resident Saurabh Kumar, on the instructions of his foreign handlers, was supplying country-made self-loading pistols to criminals to carry out target killings and other serious crimes in the state.
He said that under the supervision of SP Investigation Patiala Gurbans Singh Bains and DSP Harman Cheema, CIA Patiala Unit and SHO Shambhu took action and arrested the four accused.

Supply in Punjab through various means

The SSP further said that accused Saurabh Kumar used to arrange weapons from some illegal arms manufacturing units in Muzaffarpur, Bihar and supply them to Punjab through various means. Preliminary interrogation also revealed that the arrested accused Abhishek was in touch with gangster Goldie Dhillon through social media platforms and was actively involved in the gang war.

In this regard, FIR No. 50 dated 01-04-2026 has been registered at Police Station Shambhu, Patiala under Section 111 of BNS and Section 25 of Arms Act.
