Will Iran wreak more havoc on Saudi-UAE?

Tehran: Tension is continuously increasing in the Middle East and the situation seems to be becoming more serious. Recently, Iran has claimed to have shot down a Chinese-made Wing Loong II drone near Shiraz. This drone is commonly used by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, not the US. If the claim of shooting down the drone proves true, it would mean that a drone from a Gulf country was flying over Iran. In such a situation, if the country of the drone’s attacker is found out, Iran can launch a major counterattack.

If drone connection is found with Saudi, it will be difficult
Experts believe that if this conflict continues for a long time, Saudi Arabia may have to bear the biggest loss. Saudi’s biggest concern is about its oil and energy reserves. Recently Iran has included Saudi’s important oil targets in the list of possible attacks. Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Argchi has already warned that as long as US military bases remain present in Saudi Arabia, it will remain a target. At the same time, if the Chinese-made Wing Loong II has a connection with Saudi Arabia, it may face problems.

Saudi wants to avoid direct confrontation with Iran
The change in Donald Trump’s stance has further increased Saudi Arabia’s concern. Due to the sudden softening of America’s strict role regarding the Strait of Hormuz, Saudi is feeling that it may now have to take more responsibility for its own security. Saudi Arabia had earlier hoped that this conflict would weaken Iran’s power or increase political instability there, but now the situation seems to be the opposite. If Iran does not weaken, a conflict with it could prove more costly for Saudi.

Danger may increase for Saudi on 2 fronts
To further complicate the situation, Iran has also activated the Houthi rebels. These rebels are already considered staunch opponents of Saudi Arabia and have attacked the kingdom several times from Yemen. In such a situation, Saudi fears that if Houthi attacks intensify, the threat to it will increase on two fronts. Overall, if the drones are found to have any connection with Saudi or UAE, the Gulf region may see further conflict in the coming days.
