Nifty 50 top losers today, April 2: Asian Paints, Eicher Motors, Sun Pharma lead declines as market ends marginally higher

Indian equity indices ended a volatile session on April 2 with marginal gains, even as several heavyweight stocks dragged. The Nifty 50 closed above the 22,700 mark, while the BSE Sensex also posted modest gains.

At the closing bell, the Sensex rose 185.23 points or 0.25% to settle at 73,319.55, while the Nifty gained 33.70 points or 0.15% to end at 22,713.10.

Despite the positive close in benchmark indices, selling pressure was visible across select sectors, with multiple stocks ending in the red.

Top Nifty 50 Losers – April 2

Asian Paints led the losses, declining 2.5% to close at ₹2,170.4.

Eicher Motors dropped 2.4% to ₹6,660.0.

Sun Pharmaceutical Industries fell 2.1%, ending at ₹1,692.0.

Eternal slipped 1.9% to ₹232.0.

Bajaj Auto declined 1.8% to close at ₹8,740.0.

NTPC ended 1.6% lower at ₹358.9.

Grasim Industries dropped 1.5% to ₹2,552.9.

HDFC Life Insurance fell 1.4%, closing at ₹565.0.

Reliance Industries declined 1.3% to ₹1,350.9.

Max Healthcare Institute also slipped 1.3%, ending at ₹946.5.
