Helicopter service now in Nashik Kumbh Mela! The journey of the devotees will be easy

Nashik Kumbh Mela 2026 | Simhastha Kumbh Mela will be held in Nashik soon. Crores of devotees from home and abroad are likely to attend this fair which will be held from October 31, 2026 to July 2028. According to religious beliefs, taking a bath in the holy river during the Kumbh Mela is believed to destroy sins and attain salvation.Presently preparations are underway for the Kumbh Mela 2027. Government is doing large scale development works for roads, bridges, ghats, sanitation, health and safety. A new ghat is being constructed on the river Godavari and the facilities are being extended for the devotees. Also emphasis is being placed on improving traffic management, emergency services and accommodation. Now helicopter service will also be added to this.

Yes, keeping in mind the increasing crowd and traffic congestion on the roads in the wake of the upcoming Kumbh Mela (Nashik Kumbh Mela 2026) in Nashik, the Maharashtra Tourism Department has now announced helicopter services. Nashik Kumbh Mela is not only religious but also culturally and socially very important event. More than 90 lakh devotees are expected to visit the state during this year’s Nashik Kumbh Mela. In addition, during the main days of Sna, the roads are crowded and there is heavy traffic. Therefore, there is a possibility of massive traffic congestion in the city during this period. To reduce this problem, ‘heli-tourism circuit’ will be started.

Due to this service, the devotees will be able to visit various pilgrimage sites in less time. The circuit will cover important places like Saibaba Temple, Ghrishneshwar Temple, Ajantha-Verul Caves and Bhimashankar Temple. These helicopter services will reduce the stress on the roads and make travel more convenient. These services will be operated by private companies. Besides, around Rs 15,000 crore will be invested in infrastructure, transport, promotion and tourism development during the Kumbh Mela. The fair will begin with flag hoisting on 31st October 2026, followed by major religious events like Shahi Snan, Amrit Snan and Nagar Pradakshina.
