West Bengal Assembly Elections TMC Goons Are Threatening Voters
Before the assembly elections in West Bengal, TMC’s lamp is seen fluttering. A video is going viral alleging that TMC workers are threatening voters to save power. In the video, an alleged TMC worker is seen threatening voters.
This video was shared by journalist Shafiqul Islam on his YouTube channel ‘Arambag TV’ on April 2. In the video, a person is seen going door-to-door warning people not to vote in favor of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
What was said in the video?
In the viral video, the accused man is heard saying, “You people cannot vote on Kamal. If there is a disturbance on the day of voting, then there is no need to go to vote. I will send sweets to your home.” He further says, “If you want us to win because TMC works for you 24 hours, then those who support us will have to vote. No vote should go waste this year. I am saying this clearly.”
This is the situation in West Bengal. Got this video from Facebook.

A woman is also seen in the video, who allegedly gives in to pressure and assures him that she will obey him. The accused is seen threatening the goon in the video, “We will see who is voting from which house. This time our cameras will be present. All this will be live.”
This statement raises serious questions on the confidentiality and independence of the electoral process.
It is being told that this video has surfaced from Baharampur assembly constituency, which is located in Murshidabad district. According to journalist Shafikul Islam, the accused seen in the video is TMC worker Raju Mandal.
TMC’s politics of panic after this video surfaced is being sharply criticized. Opposition parties have called it an attack on the democratic process, while till now TMC is avoiding responding to this viral video. Experts say that if such incidents are not investigated impartially, it could create an atmosphere of fear among voters and affect the transparency of elections.
