The Education Department has taken strict steps to stop the arbitrariness of private schools in Rajasthan. With the beginning of the new academic session, the government has issued instructions for strict monitoring in view of the increasing financial burden on parents in the name of uniforms, books, shoes and other materials.
The order issued by Director of Secondary Education Sitaram Jat (IAS) made it clear that no private school will be allowed to force parents to buy goods from any particular shop. If this is done then strict action will be taken against the school concerned.
Three-member committees will inspect
The Education Department has instructed all the District Education Officers to form three-member committees under the chairmanship of the Chief Block Education Officer (CBEO). These committees will conduct surprise inspections of all private schools in the district by 15 April 2026.
Key points of inspection
During inspection it will be checked that –
- Is the school forcing you to buy uniforms or books from a specific shop?
- Is the Fee Regulation Act being violated?
- Are parents being charged unnecessary or excessive fees?
All the committees will have to send their reports to the Directorate by 20 April 2026.

Parents will get relief
Thousands of parents are expected to get relief from this decision of the government. Education Department has issued an email ID for filing complaints (Facebook
