Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy CM Samrat Chaudhary reached Vaishali, inaugurated the Metal Stupa Road, took information about various development works.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary suddenly reached Vaishali on Friday. He took an in-depth tour of the Buddha Samyak Darshan Museum cum Smriti Stupa complex situated in Vaishali. During this, the Chief Minister took detailed information about the tourist facilities available in the complex, the existing arrangements and various development works done so far. He also gave many necessary instructions to the officials present there to further improve these facilities and arrangements, so that the tourists coming here do not face any kind of inconvenience.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated the new road leading from the Buddha Samyak Darshan Museum cum Smriti Stupa complex to the ancient metal stupa by cutting the ribbon. This new route will directly connect these two important Buddhist sites, making travel even easier for tourists. After the inauguration, he observed the meaning of the Buddhist symbols and teachings of Lord Buddha inscribed on the stone slabs installed in the complex. Along with this, the Chief Minister duly worshiped the statue of Lord Buddha installed on the ground floor of Smriti Stupa and wished for happiness, peace and prosperity in the entire state.

During the tour, the Chief Minister emphasized on the historical and mythological importance of Vaishali. He said that Vaishali is a land which has its own glorious past. The Chief Minister appreciated the construction work of Buddha Samyak Darshan Museum cum Smriti Stupa. He said that this complex has been constructed very well, which shows its grandeur and importance.
Nitish Kumar also highlighted the environmental aspects of the campus. He told that this place has been made much better from the environmental point of view, due to which the environment here remains calm and pleasant. Its objective is that the tourists coming here can have a pleasant experience and can see Lord Buddha in a peaceful environment. The Chief Minister expressed confidence that this venue will not only give Vaishali a new identity and prestige at the global level, but it will also boost tourism, culture and employment opportunities in the region in a big way. This will provide economic benefits to the local people and the importance of Vaishali will further increase.
Government’s focus on development of Buddha sites
The Chief Minister also mentioned the efforts being made by the state government for the development of all the places associated with Lord Buddha. He said that the state government has developed all the important places related to Lord Buddha. Not only this, all these Buddhist tourist places have been connected as a ‘circuit’. Through this circuit, tourists can easily travel to Kushinagar via important places like Rajgir, Patna, Vaishali, Kesariya Stupa and West Champaran. The move will establish Bihar as a major pilgrimage and tourism hub for followers of Buddhism and tourists, giving an unprecedented boost to religious tourism in the state. This circuit will provide a convenient and integrated experience to the tourists.
Extensive preparations were made by the district administration to conduct the Chief Minister’s sudden visit to Vaishali in a successful, safe and well-organized manner. Under the leadership of Vaishali District Officer Varsha Singh, the entire district administration together carried out this work. A total of 125 magistrates were deputed to ensure the success of the programme. Additionally, adequate number of police officials and police forces were also deployed so that any untoward incident could be avoided and the Chief Minister’s visit could be conducted in a peaceful manner. Due to tight security arrangements, the Chief Minister’s entire program ran smoothly and he participated in all the scheduled programs.
It is clear from this tour that the Bihar government is making continuous efforts to develop places related to Buddhism and promote tourism. This development work of Buddha Samyak Darshan Museum cum Smriti Stupa located in Vaishali and the inauguration of the new route is an important part of this series. In the coming times, this will strengthen the identity of Vaishali not only at the local level but also at the international level and will present the cultural and religious heritage of Bihar to the world.
