Adani Group: Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani described APSEZ crossing the historic mark of 500 million tonnes of cargo handling, calling it not just a business achievement but a “living legacy”. He said that this success goes far beyond numbers and reflects the thinking, faith and courage that made this journey possible. In his address, he said that any great institution is built twice – first in thoughts and beliefs, and then in the real world. This achievement of APSEZ is also the result of the same thinking and continuous efforts, which involve years of hard work, struggle and dedication.
Passion and belief lay the foundation for success
Describing this journey as personal, Adani said that this journey which started from Mundra Port has today turned into a huge network, which includes many ports in the country and abroad. He recalled that in the 1990s, even traveling overnight from Ahmedabad to Mundra without road was a challenge, but the same passion and belief laid the foundation of this success today. He said that the strength of APSEZ is not just in building ports, but in developing “flow” i.e. connectivity, logistics and flow of industry. Today this network is playing an important role in strengthening the infrastructure of the country.
Credit given to employees and workers
In his address, Adani especially mentioned the employees and workers working at the ground level. He said that the crane operators, marine team, planners, maintenance staff and workers coming from remote places are the real heroes of this achievement. He dedicated this achievement to the workers by paying tribute to their sacrifice and hard work. Referring to the organizational changes, Adani said that the group is now moving towards a three-tier structure, thereby strengthening the decision-making process down to the grassroots level and giving more rights to the employees. He said that only those organizations will be successful in future, where decisions are taken fast and close to the actual situation.
The company will try to handle 1 billion tons of cargo by 2030.
Talking about future plans, he said that India is entering a new era in the field of logistics and APSEZ is ready to take advantage of this opportunity. He targeted that the company will strive to reach 1 billion tonnes of cargo handling by the year 2030. At the end of his address, Adani said that this achievement of 500 million tonnes is not the end, but a new beginning. He expressed confidence that the best is yet to come for APSEZ, Adani Group and India.
