The beginning of April usually indicates intense heat, but this time the weather has surprised everyone. Dense clouds, strong storms, rain and hail have affected the daily routine of people in North India. The latest warning from the Meteorological Department has increased the concern, because the situation may become more serious in the coming days.

According to the Meteorological Department, heavy storms and rains may continue in many states between April 4 and 7. During this period the wind speed can reach 80 kilometers per hour. This is not just a normal weather change, but a larger system is active, which can affect many parts of North India.

Major reason for change in weather

The weather patterns have been changing continuously for the last few days. Sometimes there is strong sunshine and sometimes there is sudden rain and storm. The main reason behind this is the activation of western disturbance. Currently, two strong systems are active, one during April 3-4 and the other around April 7. Due to the effect of these two, the possibility of strong winds, rain and hailstorm has increased.

Signs of rapid change in Delhi-NCR

The weather may change rapidly in Delhi-NCR on 4th and 5th April. There is a possibility of storm with strong winds, thunder and rain. Wind speed can reach 30-40 kilometers per hour. This can lead to problems like falling of trees, traffic disruption and reduced visibility. Although the drop in temperature will provide some relief, it will not last long.

Alert in Uttar Pradesh, danger to crops

Warning of heavy rain, strong winds and hailstorm has been issued in many districts of Uttar Pradesh on April 4. Especially Western UP and Bundelkhand regions may be more affected. There is orange alert in districts like Saharanpur, Meerut, Agra, Jhansi and Mathura. Due to the possibility of large hailstorm, many crops including wheat may be damaged.

Weather will change in Bihar after April 5

At present there is a mixed effect of heat and clouds in Bihar, but the weather is likely to change after April 5. A period of rain and strong winds may begin in Patna, Gaya, Bhagalpur and Muzaffarpur. Along with this, the danger of lightning will also remain, especially in rural areas.

Difficulties increased in hilly states

The weather will be more active in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh between 3rd to 6th April. There will be strong winds along with rain and snowfall may also occur in high altitude areas. Wind speed can reach 60-70 kilometers per hour. There is also a possibility of landslides and road closure, which may cause problems to the passengers.

Impact of dust storm in Rajasthan

There is a possibility of strong dust storm and rain in many parts of Rajasthan like Jaipur, Ajmer, Kota and Udaipur. Wind speed can reach 70-80 kilometers per hour, which can reduce visibility and increase the risk of accidents.

Impact in Central and South India also

There is a possibility of rain and hail with strong winds in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha also. Whereas in South India, there may be light to moderate rain in Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. The weather here will not be that extreme, but it is important to be cautious.

Heavy rain alert in Northeast

Heavy rain is expected in Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh. Whereas in Nagaland, Manipur and Tripura there may be rain with strong winds. Due to continuous rain, flood like situation may also arise in some areas.

The Meteorological Department has advised people to stay indoors during bad weather, stay away from open places and keep an eye on weather updates. Farmers have also been advised to take necessary steps to protect their crops.
