Assam Elections 2026: “My slogan will work here, Congress will not form government” — Himanta Biswa Sarma; Owaisi’s counterattack
The political atmosphere regarding the Assam Assembly elections 2026 is becoming intense. Meanwhile, the Chief Minister of the state Himanta Biswa Sarma Has made a big attack on Congress and claimed that Congress will never be able to form the government in Assam.
Addressing a public meeting, CM Sarma said that the people of the state have now understood the politics of Congress and only their slogan will work here. He stressed that BJP’s hold in Assam is strong and the party will win the coming elections also.
Politics has heated up after his statement. Asaduddin Owaisi Hitting back at this, he said that in a democracy, the final decision is taken by the people and not by the slogan of any one leader. Owaisi also said that in elections all parties should talk on public issues and not just on claims and slogans.
At present, there is a tough competition in the politics of Assam between BJP, Congress and other regional parties. While BJP is trying to retain its power, Congress and other opposition parties are making efforts to return to power.
Experts believe that this time’s election is going to be very interesting, because many issues like development, employment and regional identity can play a major role.
At present, the war of words is going on among the leaders and as the elections approach, the political allegations and counter-allegations are likely to intensify further.
