Commission’s action sends message of fair elections: Amit Malviya’s statement!

Ahead of the West Bengal Assembly elections, the BJP welcomed the arrest of TMC leaders on charges of voter intimidation. BJP says this action is a sign that the elections will be fair and free.

BJP’s IT cell chief and West Bengal central observer Amit Malviya, while posting on social media platform ‘X’, said that TMC leader of Deuli-1 Gram Panchayat Hafizul Mollah Pradhan has been arrested for threatening voters and legal action is being taken against him. He said that even before this, two TMC leaders had been arrested who were trying to scare the voters.

Amit Malviya said that these arrests clearly indicate that the Election Commission is adopting a strict stance in such matters. He said this sends a strong message that the coming elections will be fair and free.

During this period, BJP also launched a scathing attack on TMC and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. The party alleges that TMC is more concerned about Muslim infiltrators, while the safety and rights of Bengalis, especially Hindu Bengalis, are being ignored.

Apart from this, Amit Malviya also criticized TMC for calling Indian tennis star Leander Paes, who recently joined BJP, as an ‘outsider’. He said that Paes is the son of this soil. He had to clarify his identity and pride. He also reminded that Leander Paes is a descendant of the great litterateur Michael Madhusudan Dutt.

At the same time, BJP also raised questions on the letter written by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. In this letter, it was alleged that the Election Commission and BJP are together trying to add people from other states as voters in West Bengal through Form-6.

BJP says that the recent arrests are proof that the Election Commission is taking strict action in cases like intimidation.
