Conflict in Bengal politics: Mamata Banerjee’s big allegation – “The real culprit is absconding, NIA is taking action against innocent people”
Kolkata. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has launched a scathing attack on the Central Government and the National Investigation Agency (NIA) over the violence in Mothabadi in Malda district of West Bengal. He alleged that the real accused are absconding, while the investigating agency is harassing innocent local people.
“The real culprit is absconding, the innocent is on target”-
Mamata Banerjee said that the real culprits who surrounded the judicial officers escaped, but in the name of investigation, NIA is detaining and torturing about 50 local youth.
He also claimed that two communal groups were involved in the incident, who fled from the spot.
Concern expressed over deletion of name from voter list-
During the election rally, Mamata Banerjee asked people how many names had been removed from the voter list. He instructed the party leaders that those whose names were wrongly removed should be re-added through the tribunal.
He appealed to the public to avoid direct confrontation and adopt the legal route.
Direct attack on BJP-
The Chief Minister alleged that the BJP deliberately wants to spoil the atmosphere so that violence can incite and people can be harassed through central agencies.
What was the whole matter?
The crowd protesting against the removal of names from the voter list in Mothabadi, Malda had turned violent.

Was held hostage for about 9 hours.
During this period, incidents of stone pelting, road jams and attacks on police also came to light.
The state CID has arrested 35 people so far.
Now NIA is investigating-
After the rebuke of the Supreme Court, the Election Commission has handed over the investigation of this entire matter to the NIA.
