IPL 2026 RCB vs CSK: Chennai’s third consecutive defeat, Bengaluru crushed by 43 runs
The 11th match of the Indian Premier League 2026 (IPL 2026) was a high-scoring encounter. The match was played between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on 5 April. Chennai had to face defeat in this match also. This was CSK’s third consecutive defeat. RCB won the match by a huge margin of 43 runs.
Looking at the current performance of Chennai Super Kings, everyone is reminded of the 2025 IPL season. A season in which CSK had to fight for every win, yet had to face defeat in the end. Due to not winning a single match so far in IPL 2026, Chennai is currently at the bottom 10th position in the points table. On the contrary, by winning this match RCB has reached the top position in the points table.

RCB innings
RCB had a great start. During the powerplay, the team scored 51 runs losing only one wicket. After this, Bengaluru increased its pace further in the middle overs. Between 7 and 15 overs, he lost only two wickets and scored 102 runs. The team’s batting momentum continued in the death overs as RCB scored 97 runs without losing any wicket between overs 16 and 20. After which, by the end of 20 overs, Royal Challengers Bangalore scored a huge score of 250 runs at the loss of three wickets.
For Bengaluru, Tim David scored the highest score by scoring an unbeaten 70 runs, while Devdutt Padikkal contributed 50 runs. Apart from this, captain Rajat Patidar also scored unbeaten 48 runs. On the other hand, Shivam Dubey, Jamie Overton and Anshul Kamboj took one wicket each for CSK. Overall, Chennai bowlers proved to be a complete failure.

CSK innings
CSK got off to a fast start but wickets kept falling. During the powerplay, Chennai scored 77 runs losing 3 wickets. After this, the team kept losing wickets at regular intervals even in the middle overs. Between overs 7 and 15, the team added 88 more runs to the total score but lost 3 more wickets during this period. In the end, the team lost 4 wickets in the death overs and could score only 42 runs. In this match, CSK was all out for 207 runs in 19.4 overs and RCB won the match by 43 runs.
Sarfaraz Khan scored 50 runs for Chennai Super Kings, while Prashant Veer scored 43 runs. Apart from this, Jamie Overton scored 37 runs. On the other hand, Bhuvneshwar Kumar took maximum 3 wickets for RCB. Whereas, Jacob Duffy, Abhinandan Singh and Krunal Pandya took 2 wickets each, while Suyyash Sharma took 1 wicket.
