Fake IPS caught in Bihar, Rajesh Shukla of Gorakhpur was extorting money

In Dawood Nagar of Aurangabad district of Bihar, a vicious swindler has been exposed, who won the trust of the people in the name of uniform and converted the same trust into a weapon of fraud. This accused, who was intimidating people by pretending to be an IPS officer, finally came under the grip of the police.
The arrested accused has been identified as Rajesh Shukla, resident of Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. His story is no less than a film script. The ‘status game’ that started with a phone call gradually turned into a web of fraud.

The game started with an unknown call
Textile businessman Rakesh Kumar, resident of North Darwaja Mohalla of Dawood Nagar became its victim. An unknown call on 19th February created a stir in his life. The caller, claiming to be an IPS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre, made such an impressive conversation that the caller easily trusted him. We met after a few days. The accused also showed a fake ID card to strengthen his claim of being an ‘IPS’.
47 thousand rupees shock from businessman
This false display of uniform and identity was so impressive that Rakesh Kumar did not even suspect it. After this, the process of asking for money in the name of ‘need’ started. The accused, using pressure from his alleged position, asked for money in the name of help. The trusted businessman transferred a total of Rs 47 thousand to his account in two installments on March 15, but this game of fraud did not stop here.
Police arrived after commotion
On April 2, the accused suddenly reached Rakesh Kumar’s shop. This time his style was even more aggressive. He again made a new demand of Rs 20,000 while pretending to be an IPS. The accused abused, threatened and tried to intimidate. The increasing commotion at the shop attracted the attention of the people nearby. A crowd gathered, the atmosphere heated up and someone immediately informed the police. The police reached the spot and took the accused into custody.
What was found with the accused?
During interrogation in the police station, the whole game of ‘fake IPS’ was exposed. Rajesh Shukla confessed to his crime. The items found from him during the search were even more shocking. Fake identity cards of agencies like CIA and NIA, election card of a political party, appointment letter of a human rights organization, khaki uniform and many other items have been recovered from him.

Dawoodnagar SDPO Ashok Das said that a case has been registered against the accused under fraud, forgery and intimidation. After necessary action he has been sent to jail. At present, it is being investigated how many more people this vicious thug made his victims.
