Mamta Banerjee targeted BJP, said in Murshidabad – ‘They want to destroy Bengal’

Kolkata, 5 April. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee lashed out at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during an election rally in Murshidabad on Sunday and accused the party of trying to ‘destroy Bengal’.

Officials are being threatened and voter lists are being manipulated.

Targeting Union Home Minister Amit Shah, CM Mamata alleged that officials are being threatened and the voter list is being manipulated. He said, ‘If you have courage then fight openly.’ He also said that the purpose of efforts to remove names from the voter list is to scare people.

Promised a separate budget for farmers

Referring to his government’s plans, the TMC chief announced that a separate budget for farmers will be presented if his party comes to power again. He also claimed that around 500 officials have been removed for slowing down the development work in the state.

Assuring the general public, he said, ‘You can stop work for a month, but everything will start again after the elections. Development projects will continue. The Chief Minister also talked about the development work done in areas like Farakka, including construction of roads and building community halls for minority communities.

If TMC does not return to power, Bengali language and identity will be in danger.

CM Mamata stressed that her government works for people of all religions and does not support divisive politics. He warned that the Bengali language and identity would be in danger if his party was not re-elected. At another rally in Shamsherganj, he said, ‘If TMC is not brought back to power, BJP will destroy the Bengali language.’

Voting is to be held in two phases on 23rd and 29th April

It is noteworthy that in West Bengal, voting will be held in two phases on 23rd and 29th April and the counting of votes will take place on 4th May. In the first phase, elections will be held in Purulia, Bankura, Jhargram, Birbhum, East and West Midnapore, Jalpaiguri, Malda, Murshidabad, North and South Dinajpur, West Bardhaman, Darjeeling, Cooch Behar, Alipurduar and Kalimpong. In the second phase, elections will be held in East Bardhaman, Nadia, North and South 24 Parganas, Howrah, Hooghly and Kolkata.
