Lucknow got its first win of IPL 2026
The first match of the IPL on 5th April was played between Lucknow Super Giants and Sunrisers Hyderabad. In this match played till the last over, Lucknow team won by 5 wickets. Mohammed Shami and Rishabh Pant played important roles in Lucknow’s victory. Shami bowled brilliantly and took two wickets for 9 runs in his four overs. Whereas Rishabh Pant played a match-winning inning of 68 runs with the help of 9 fours in 50 balls.

Chennai got its third defeat of the season
The second match of the day was played between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. In this high scoring match, Bengaluru defeated Chennai by 43 runs. Tim David batted brilliantly for RCB in this match and played a stormy innings of 70 runs in 25 balls. Batting first, RCB scored 250 runs in this match. In reply, Chennai team could score only 207 runs.
