After Delhi-Mumbai, terrorism keeps an eye on Kolkata, Asif fumes on Rajnath Singh’s statement, gives jackal bark

Pakistan Threatens to Attack Kolkata: Pakistan Defense Minister Khawaja Asif on Saturday warned India that any future audacious attempt will be responded to with strikes till Kolkata. Asif told reporters in his hometown Sialkot, about 130 km from Lahore, that if India tried to carry out any military operation by holding them responsible, Pakistan would target Kolkata.

Pakistani Defense Minister claimed that India is allegedly planning a false flag operation against Pakistan in which some bodies will be presented in such a way that they look like terrorists. However, he did not present any evidence to support this claim.

Pakistan angry over Rajnath Singh’s statement

This statement of Khawaja Asif came in response to the statement given by Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. Rajnath, while attending a Navy event recently, had said that India’s response to any misadventure in the current situation would be unprecedented and decisive. He mentioned that after the Pahalgam attack on April 22 last year, Indian troops had brought Pakistan to its knees in 22 minutes in ‘Operation Sindoor’.

Pakistan had threatened earlier also

This is not the first time that Pakistan has threatened to attack India. Earlier, former Pakistani diplomat Abdul Basit had said that if America ever attacks Pakistan or targets its nuclear program, then Pakistan will be left with no option but to attack India. He had also talked about targeting cities like Delhi and Mumbai.

Tension in India-Pakistan relations

It is clear from these statements of both the countries that tension across the border still persists. The Pahalgam attack on April 22 last year resulted in a four-day-long conflict between the two countries. During this period, India attacked Pakistan by entering 100 kilometers and killed many terrorists. This incident raised international concern and India–Pakistan relations became more tense.
