An important technical lecture was organized on the topic “Maritime India–Empowering Progress”

An important technical lecture on the topic “Maritime India–Empowering Progress” was organized by The Institution of Engineers (India), Uttar Pradesh State Centre, Lucknow, on the occasion of National Maritime Day, on 5 April 2026, at the Institution of Engineers Bhawan, I.E.I., River Bank Colony, Lucknow, in the capital Lucknow. Devendra Pandey, Chief Engineer, Marine Wideshine Management, Singapore participated as the keynote speaker on this occasion.
In his lecture, he highlighted in detail the development of India’s maritime sector, its role in global trade and the concept of “Maritime India – Empowering Progress”. He said that the maritime sector plays an important role in strengthening the country’s economy and is helpful in making India a strong nation through port development, logistics, maritime technology and global connectivity. He also said that efficiency, safety and environmental protection can be promoted in the maritime sector through modern technology, digitalization and innovation.
Concepts like green shipping, smart ports and sustainable maritime management will play an important role in future development. The program was presided over by In. V.P. Singh, Chairman, IEI. Done by Uttar Pradesh State Centre, Lucknow. In his presidential address, he highlighted the importance of National Maritime Day and said that the role of maritime sector is very important in the overall development of India and innovation and technological advancement in this sector is the need of the hour.
Expressing his gratitude to the keynote speaker, he said that the organization will continue to organize such informative and public useful programs in the future also. Program coordinator In. Anil Gupta welcomed the guests and presented the outline of the program. The successful operation and coordination of the program was done by Honorary Secretary of the organization, Mr. Done by Nirendra Kumar Nishad. He expressed his gratitude to all the present engineers, academicians and students.
