Who was Majid Khademi?

Majid Khademi was a senior Iranian military officer and brigadier general of the IRGC. He was appointed head of the IRGC’s intelligence organization in June 2025, after his predecessor Mohammad Kazemi was killed in Israeli air strikes. Khademi had also previously served as the head of the IRGC’s Intelligence Protection Organization from 2022 to 2025 and was considered an important pillar of Iran’s intelligence system.

“Major General Majid Khademi, the powerful and educated head of the intelligence organization of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, was martyred this morning in a criminal terrorist attack carried out by the American-Zionist enemy,” the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a post on its official Telegram channel. However, no exact information has been shared yet regarding the place, time and circumstances of this attack.

Will there be a ceasefire soon?

Amidst this incident, diplomatic activities regarding ceasefire have intensified. According to sources, a two-step plan has been prepared to reduce tension between Iran and America. Under this plan, first of all an immediate ceasefire will be implemented, after which steps will be taken towards a comprehensive and permanent agreement.

Sources say that the draft of this peace plan has been prepared by Pakistan and it has been shared between both the parties. Pakistan is working as the only communication medium in this entire process. According to reports, a possible 45-day ceasefire is also being discussed between America, Iran and regional mediators. The proposal is part of a two-step strategy aimed at permanently ending the conflict.
