‘Dhurandhar’ franchise directed by Aditya Dhar and starring Ranveer Singh is not only breaking box office records but has also become a topic of discussion on social media. As the film’s successful run continues, comedian Zakir Khan has taken a dig at Bollywood. He said that due to the tremendous success of this film, many people in the industry have become jealous.
On Sunday (April 5), Zakir played host on the Chetak Screen Awards 2026 stage along with Alia Bhatt and Karan Johar. Many clips of this ceremony are now going viral on social media, one of which is especially in the news. In this clip, Zakir took a dig at Bollywood over the blockbuster success of ‘Dhurandhar’ franchise. Both the original film and its sequel have been massive box office hits and achieved major commercial success.
Zakir Khan said, “No matter how much you talk, post congratulatory posts that ‘Dhurandhar’ is our favorite film, but the truth is that we are jealous of ‘Dhurandhar’. There were bomb blasts in Lyari in the film, but its smoke is rising between Bandra and Juhu.” His statement is being considered a sharp satire on Bollywood. This clip is becoming increasingly viral on social media. One user wrote, “Zakir Khan is speaking the truth,” while another said that Zakir Khan is exposing those Mumbaikars who were betrayed by the film ‘Dhurandhar’.

The first part of this film series was released in December 2025, which achieved blockbuster status by earning more than Rs 1300 crore worldwide. At the same time, its second part ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ got a great opening of Rs 145 crore and till now it has earned more than Rs 1500 crore globally. The special thing is that ‘Dhurandhar 2’ has become the first Hindi film to have a net collection of Rs 1000 crore in the country. This spy thriller directed by Aditya Dhar stars Ranveer Singh, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi, R. Madhavan and Sanjay Dutt are seen in important roles.
