CSK got double good news, after Brevis, MS Dhoni also became fit; Will be seen playing in this match

MS Dhoni Set To Undergo Fitness Test: The start of IPL 2026 has been very challenging for Chennai Super Kings (CSK). The team is at the bottom of the points table after losing to Rajasthan Royals, Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore in its first three matches. The biggest reason behind this poor start has been the absence of their experienced wicketkeeper-batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

Dhoni is out of the field due to calf strain before the tournament and till now he has not played any match this season. However, a big relief news has emerged for CSK. According to media reports, Dhoni will undergo a fitness test in the next few days and depending on the results of the test, he may return for CSK’s next match against Delhi Capitals in Chepauk this Saturday.

MS Dhoni started batting practice

According to sources, Dhoni has returned to bat in the nets and he is not facing any problem at the moment. However, the CSK team management does not want to take any kind of risk and will not allow the 44-year-old veteran player to rush into a comeback. At present Dhoni is not even traveling with the squad.

In the absence of Dhoni, Chennai’s middle-order has looked very weak and the team faced a lot of difficulties in scoring big scores. His lack of experience and aggressive batting played a significant role in the team’s defeat. In the absence of Dhoni, even the bowlers are not able to contribute their 100 percent.

MS Dhoni will soon return to the field after getting fit.

CSK head coach Stephen Fleming also expressed hope that Dhoni will return to the field fully fit by the next match. Fleming said, “We hope he will be fine for the next game. We have five days between the next game. We’ve been conservative and hopefully the next five days go as planned, and he’s ready to play.”

MS Dhoni is in the last phase of his IPL career after this season and it is also expected that this will be the last season of his career. His return for CSK will prove to be important in strengthening the team’s hopes as well as in making the path to the playoffs easier.

Brevis will also return against Delhi

At the beginning of this season, CSK had to face the loss of not only Dhoni but also Dewald Brevis. Brewis missed the first three matches due to a side strain sustained during a training session. He can also make a comeback against Delhi Capitals. Now the team’s eyes are fixed on the return of its experienced and talented players, so that the path to rise in the points table can be opened.
