‘Tear your blouse…’ Congress leader’s shameful words create ruckus in Kerala, these controversial instructions given to women
Before the assembly elections in Kerala, the level of politics has reached its lowest ebb. During the election campaign in Idukki district, District Congress Committee (DCC) President C.P. Mathew has made such objectionable remarks about women, which has created a political storm in the entire state. While addressing an election rally, Mathew’s claim of using women for political gains has shocked everyone.
‘Dirty’ strategy to trap opponents exposed
This entire incident happened in front of Roy K, the UDF candidate from Idukki constituency. It happened during an election rally of Paulos. Senior Congress leader C.P. Mathew was referring to an old protest in his speech. He reportedly claimed that he himself had instructed a former female deputy head of a gram panchayat to tear her blouse during the agitation. According to Mathew, this was said so as to land political rivals in serious legal trouble.
Video went viral on social media
In this video going viral on social media, Mathew can be heard saying that women leaders can tear their own clothes during any clash and then lodge a complaint with the police. According to him, adopting such “strategy” makes the cases against the opponents even stronger and they can easily be sent to jail. After this statement the Congress leader is being embarrassed a lot.
Tribal card and silence of leaders
Mathew also mentioned in his address that the woman belonged to a tribal community, so if needed, more stringent sections could be imposed against the protesters. The surprising thing was that when Mathew was saying these controversial things, many senior leaders including Kerala Congress Vice President Jason Joseph were present on the stage and they were seen smiling. At present, the Congress high command has maintained silence on this entire matter.
CPI-M (CPI-M) launched a scathing attack
The ruling party CPI(M) has strongly condemned these statements and called it a black day for democracy. The party alleged that Congress was conspiring to incite violence and misuse the law to win the elections. CPI(M) leaders say that this is a deliberate strategy to implicate the opponents in false cases, which exposes the real face of the Congress.
