Kanpur kidney case: Video of absconding 2 accused with wad of notes goes viral, police swung into action

Kanpur. Kanpur Police of Uttar Pradesh, while confirming the viral video of two accused of kidney transplant gang with a bundle of currency notes, has said that some members of the gang have been arrested in this case while the police is conducting raids in different districts to arrest six to seven accused. Deputy Commissioner of Police West SM Qasim Abidi said on Monday that a video has gone viral on social media, in which accused Afzal and one of his associates Parvez Saifi are seen holding a wad of notes.

He said that the police investigation so far has brought to light the fact that all the concerned persons were working as an organized gang (syndicate) and were involved in criminal activities under the same. He said that some accused have been arrested in this case, while police teams are continuously conducting raids to arrest the remaining accused. At present about 6-7 accused are absconding, whose immediate arrest will be ensured.

It is noteworthy that a video of Dr. Afzal and Parvez Saifi, two members of the kidney transplant gang busted in Kanpur recently, has gone viral on social media in which they are seen lying on a bed with wads of currency notes. Police say that Parvez is a convicted criminal. Its job for the kidney transplant gang was to provide vehicles to bring the team of doctors and specialists from Delhi and Ghaziabad to Kanpur. Kanpur Police has so far arrested eight members of this gang, which includes the operator couple of Ahuja Hospital and six others.
