Royal Enfield Bear 650 Gets A Direct Challenger
Mahindra-owned Classic Legends is behind the revival of motorcycle brands like Jawa, Yezdi, and BSA. Classic Legends is now planning to launch a new BSA motorcycle in the market. They have been working on a scrambler motorcycle, and Classic Legends co-founder Anupam Thareja had hinted at the same during a media interaction. It looks like the upcoming motorcycle is going to be the BSA Scrambler 650, and the official launch is scheduled to happen on April 23, 2026.
The upcoming Scrambler 650 motorcycle, as expected, is based on the Gold Star 650. The new motorcycle will compete with the Royal Enfield Bear 650. The Scrambler 650 was first showcased in the UK last year in July.
The BSA Scrambler 650 gets a neo-retro design, which gives it a rugged look. As expected, BSA is giving the motorcycle an off-road-friendly exterior design with a raised front fender, single-piece seat, raised handlebar, circular LED headlamp with an optional grille, ‘65’ graphics on the side cover, and more.
The motorcycle will continue to get a teardrop design for the fuel tank and would come with 41 mm telescopic front forks and dual shocks at the rear. The motorcycle is expected to weigh around 218 kg, and we also expect to see 19-inch wire-spoke wheels at the front and 17-inch at the rear.

The BSA Scrambler 650 will come with an 820 mm seat height, and we expect the bike to feature a circular single-pod or twin-pod instrument cluster. The Scrambler 650 would come with disc brakes at the front and rear along with dual-channel ABS, and the exhaust on this motorcycle will be upswept. The overall look and feel of the motorcycle go well with the scrambler identity.
At the rear, the motorcycle gets a minimalist design with a small tail tidy, round tail lamps, and orange turn indicators. The upcoming Scrambler 650 is powered by the same 652 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine that generates 45 PS and 55 Nm of torque. This is the same engine seen on the Gold Star.
The motorcycle is paired with a 5-speed gearbox and comes with a slipper clutch too.
The BSA Scrambler 650 has a fuel tank capacity of 12 litres. It is expected to be offered in Thunder Grey, Raven Black, and Victor Yellow colour options.
The BSA Scrambler 650 is already available in the UK market, where it is priced at £5,999, which roughly translates to around Rs 7 lakh. BSA had also launched the Gold Star internationally first, and it was only recently introduced in the Indian market.
The price of the BSA Gold Star in the UK ranges from £5,999 to £6,399, which roughly translates to Rs 6.98 lakh to Rs 7.8 lakh in India. The same motorcycle in India costs Rs 3.59 lakh, ex-showroom, for the top-end variant.
We expect a similar pricing trend with the upcoming Scrambler 650 as well. It is likely to be launched at a starting price slightly below the Gold Star 650.
