The ongoing tension between Israel and Iran now seems to be reaching a very serious and dangerous stage. This is the same strategic energy center which was attacked earlier also in March. At that time, US President Donald Trump had indicated that Iran’s energy infrastructure would not be targeted further, but recent actions have raised questions on these claims.

The South Pars area is very close to the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, which is an important route for international maritime trade. If tensions increase further here, petrol, diesel and cooking gas may become expensive in many countries including India.

Israel claims that Iran uses its gas earnings to support organizations that are active against it. In such a situation, the aim of this attack is said to be to limit the economic resources of Iran. On the other hand, Iran has already warned that if its energy facilities are attacked again, it will give a strong response.
