Danger of storm, rain and hailstorm from 7-9 April, increased concern of farmers –

digital desk- Once again a big change is being seen in the weather of the country. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning that a powerful western disturbance will affect large parts of the country between 7 and 9 April 2026. Due to its impact, there is a possibility of strong storm, thunderstorm, heavy rain and hailstorm in many states from North India to the Northeast. According to weather experts, this time the Western Disturbance is unusually active and it can affect about 30 to 40 percent of India. The special thing is that two western disturbances are becoming active one after the other in North-West India, whose maximum impact will be seen on 7th and 8th April. During this period, there is a possibility of rain with strong winds and hailstorm in many areas.

There may be moderate rain and hailstorm on April 7 and heavy rain and hailstorm on April 8-9.

According to IMD forecast, there may be moderate to heavy rain in Kashmir Valley on April 7. At the same time, an alert of heavy rain and hailstorm has been issued in Delhi NCR, Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Western Uttar Pradesh between April 7 and 9. Sporadic hailstorm may occur in Bihar and Jharkhand from April 6 to 8, while there is a possibility of hailstorm in Western Madhya Pradesh on April 8. Northeast and Eastern India will also not remain untouched by this system. Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim may receive hailstorm on April 7 and 8, while light to moderate rain is likely on April 8 and 9. Apart from this, rains with thunderstorms may continue in many parts of Central, Eastern and South India till April 9.

There will be a decrease in temperature for the next seven days

The weather is likely to be relatively clear in the capital Delhi on April 6, where the maximum temperature can be around 33 degrees Celsius and the minimum around 18 degrees Celsius. But on April 7 and 8, the weather will change and there may be partly cloudy sky with thunderstorms and rain. This weather change will also affect the temperature. For the next 7 days, the day temperature in most parts of the country is likely to be below normal or near normal, which will provide some respite from the heat to the people. However, this relief may cause concern for farmers. Experts say that standing Rabi season crops like wheat and mustard are most at risk at this time. Heavy rains and hailstorms can cause major damage to these crops, especially in Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh and many parts of North India.
