BJP became an organization of 25 crore workers in 46 years, big claim on foundation day

Bharatiya Janata Party celebrated its foundation day on Monday and entered its 47th year after completing 46 years. This party, formed on 6 April 1980, is today one of the major political forces in the country. On the occasion of Foundation Day in Maharashtra, senior leaders of the party underlined its ideological base and organizational expansion.

Referring to principles like ‘Nation First’ and ‘Antyodaya’, BJP said that the role of workers is the real strength of the party. The party gave credit for the continuous expansion of the organization and the growing network of workers to its crores of workers spread across the country.

BJP’s expansion in Maharashtra is considered to be the result of a long political process. On this occasion, State President Ravindra Chavan said that the strength of the organization in the state comes from the workers working till the booth level, who took the party to every village.

He said that initially the party’s hold was limited only to the urban areas, but gradually the trust in the party increased in the rural areas too and today BJP has made a strong hold in the entire Maharashtra. After several decades of efforts, the organization’s scope expanded with the strategy of working on local issues, coalition politics and social equations, the effect of which was also visible in the election performance.

In Maharashtra, party president Ravindra Chavan wrote a four-page article and expressed his views on many aspects of the party’s struggle and success. The expansion of BJP in Maharashtra was not at all easy, during which organizational changes were made in different phases. There were leadership changes in the state unit from time to time and responsibilities were given to leaders from different areas.

In the last several years, the party has focused on strengthening its structure from municipal bodies to assembly and Lok Sabha elections. Meanwhile, the party tried to build organizations in urban areas as well as rural areas. If we look at the results of the last few elections, then the figures show that in almost a decade, both the vote share and the number of seats of BJP have increased, due to which it has become one of the major political forces in the state.

On the occasion of Foundation Day, the party president also emphasized on the future goals of his party. Talked about making the country a 5 trillion dollar economy and Maharashtra’s major contribution in it. Besides, emphasis was also laid on taking the schemes to the last person and further strengthening the organization. However, the opposition has been raising questions on these claims and terming it a political message. Despite this, BJP claims that its expansion is the result of its network of workers and continuous ground work, which it plans to continue in the future.
