The 12th match of IPL 2026 was being played between Kolkata Knight Riders and Punjab Kings at Eden Gardens. After winning the toss and batting first, Kolkata Knight Riders had scored only 25 runs in 3.4 overs, when it started raining, after which the umpires decided to cancel the match at around 11 pm.

Captain Ajinkya Rahane and Finn Allen started the innings for Kolkata Knight Riders, but Kolkata had a very bad start. You get 2 points for winning a match in IPL. If the matches are canceled due to some reason, then one point each is distributed between both the teams. In such a situation, Kolkata Knight Riders and Punjab Kings got 1 point each. Rain saved KKR, because in this match also Punjab Kings seemed to have the upper hand. Kolkata Knight Riders had lost 2 matches in the beginning of this season. In such a situation, KKR has now got a point.
