Due to increasing tension in West Asia, Air India suspends New Delhi-Tel Aviv flights till May 31, passengers going to Israel affected

New Delhi. Due to the ongoing tension in West Asia, Air India has decided to suspend its flights to Israel till May 31. The airline has currently stopped its direct services from New Delhi to Tel Aviv (New Delhi–Tel Aviv flights). This decision has been taken at a time when the security situation in the area is continuously deteriorating. Many international airlines have already stopped their services. At present, only a few local airlines are operating flights to Israel under limited and strict rules.

Increased concern of Indians

This decision has affected more than 40,000 Indians living in Israel. These include working people, students and other citizens who want to move out due to the current situation. Due to closure of direct flights, people now have to go out by land routes via Jordan or Egypt, which increases both time and risk.

Indian Embassy help

The Embassy of India in Tel Aviv is in constant touch with Indian citizens and is playing an active role in helping them. A 24-hour emergency helpline has been started. Registration campaign is being conducted for the people. There is a continuous dialogue with the Indian community through digital medium. Recently, the Indian Ambassador and the Embassy team interacted with students and workers through online meeting, listened to their problems and assured all possible help.

Earlier flights had started again

Direct flight service between Delhi and Tel Aviv was restarted in January this year, with four flights a week. But these services were again affected after tensions increased in the area in late February.

What is the current situation?

The situation has worsened due to the attack on Iran by America and Israel and the subsequent retaliation by Iran. This conflict has affected the entire Gulf region, especially energy supplies and international travel.
