There will be no talk under pressure… Iran rejects Pakistan’s ceasefire proposal

New Delhi: Iran has rejected a 15-point peace proposal issued by Pakistan. A Foreign Ministry spokesperson said Iran rejected the latest peace proposal sent through mediators. Iran reiterated that any ceasefire negotiations will be conducted with its national interests in mind.

According to the Associated Press, both Iran and the US received a draft proposal prepared by Pakistan. It called for a 45-day ceasefire and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz to find a way to end the war. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said Tehran had already communicated its position and conditions through a mediator.

There will be no talks under pressure: Iran
He said that Iran will not negotiate under any pressure or threats. Ismail Baghaei said, “Deadlines and threats of war are incompatible with talks. Tehran has certain conditions based on its national interests and this should not be interpreted as a sign of any kind of compromise.”

Baghaei said, “Iran has no hesitation in clearly stating its demands, which it considers legitimate. Doing so should not be seen as a sign of compromise, but rather as a display of confidence.” Tehran said it has prepared its diplomatic response to the US and will announce it at the appropriate time.

Donald Trump’s Threat to Iran
All this comes at a time when US President Donald Trump, in his characteristic style, announced a day earlier (April 5, 2026) that Tuesday (April 7, 2026) would be Power Plant Day and Bridge Day in Iran. This clearly threatened to attack Iran’s power plants and bridges. Trump claimed that negotiations between the US and Iran are currently underway and there is a good chance of reaching an agreement on April 6.
