Car that entered Delhi Assembly by breaking the gate recovered, bouquet kept outside the speaker room; The accused driver is being interrogated
New Delhi: Delhi Police has achieved significant success in the matter of major lapse in security of Delhi Assembly. Police have recovered the Tata Sierra car used in the incident and the driver of the car has been taken into custody. Now the police is interrogating the accused and thoroughly investigating the entire matter.
Incident of security lapse in assembly
Major negligence in security arrangements came to light in the Delhi Assembly complex when a white Tata Sierra car tried to enter inside by breaking the VIP gate. This incident happened at 2:05 pm. The car tried to enter the assembly complex through VIP entry by breaking the closed gate located on Mall Road.
The accused kept the bouquet outside the speaker room
The person in the car ran away after placing a bouquet outside the speaker room. After the incident, there was panic in the entire campus. Senior officers of Delhi Police immediately reached the spot. It is a matter of relief that no suspicious object was found in the bouquet and the accused did not have any dangerous item with him.
Eyewitnesses told the entire incident
Two eyewitnesses present at the spot said that they were standing near gate number 2. Suddenly a loud sound was heard. When they saw, the white Tata Sierra car had broken the gate and entered inside. The car kept roaming in the campus for some time, causing panic among the people.
After some time the car returned and then went out rapidly, hitting the gate. Loud sounds were heard throughout the incident, due to which panic spread in the area. The entire incident happened within just 5 minutes.

After the incident, Delhi Police immediately started searching for the car. With the help of CCTV footage, the police identified the accused and soon recovered the Tata Sierra car. The driver driving the car has been taken into custody.
The police is now interrogating the accused as to why he did this? Was this done intentionally or was there some other reason? How this mistake happened despite the deployment of CRPF at the VIP gate is also being investigated.
