Lucknow, 7 April. These days, political war has intensified in the politics of Uttar Pradesh on the pretext of a film. Posters on ‘Dhurandhar’ theme have heated up the political atmosphere in the capital Lucknow. Through these hoardings put up by organizations supported by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), a direct attack has been made on the main opposition party Samajwadi Party. In these posters put up at major intersections and VVIP areas of the capital, on one side ‘Lyari Raj’ is written along with the picture of SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, while on the other side Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has been presented as ‘Dhurandhar CM’. The poster asks the question, “What do you want?”
These hoardings have been put up under the banner of a group called ‘Youth Against Mafia’. An attempt has been made in the posters to corner the opposition by mentioning the riots that took place in Muzaffarnagar, Meerut and Shamli during the SP rule. At the same time, the action taken against criminals during the Yogi government has been shown prominently. In the posters, cuttings of news related to the death of criminals like Atiq Ahmed, Mukhtar Ansari and Muqeem Kala have also been placed, showing the action taken against the mafia, due to which the message is being given that the present government is adopting a tough stance against crime.
The next assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh are proposed in 2027. In the last two elections (2017 and 2022), BJP got a clear majority and Yogi Adityanath took over as the Chief Minister. In such a situation, both the ruling BJP and the opposition Samajwadi Party have already started strategic blockade regarding the upcoming elections. Political analysts believe that this political conflict may further intensify in the coming times through poster war, rhetoric and public meetings.
