PSL 2026: PCB first imposed a fine of Rs 2 crore, now leave from PSL, Naseem Shah’s problems will increase

According to reports, Naseem Shah is suffering from a side strain injury. He suffered this injury during the match against Karachi Kings last week. After this, he did not even play in the last match of his team Rawalpindi Pindies. Now it has become clear that he will be out of all the remaining matches of PSL 2026.

Naseem Shah out of PSL
The PCB and the selection committee were already worried about Naseem’s fitness. Due to repeated injuries and being out of the team, his performance was affected. The report also states that the board is also not happy with his off-field behaviour. It is being told that due to being too busy in advertisements and podcasts, his focus on cricket decreased.

The PCB medical panel, headed by Dr Javed Mughal, will now keep a close eye on Naseem’s fitness. In the coming days, he will have to appear for medical examination and undergo a long rehabilitation process. Actually, Naseem Shah’s career has been affected by injuries for some time. He also could not play the 2023 ODI World Cup due to fitness reasons. Apart from this, recently he also suffered an injury during the T20 World Cup 2026, due to which he was ruled out of the ODI series against Bangladesh.

These continuous problems have also affected his career. The PCB had put Naseem in Category-C in its central contract for the 2025-26 season, reflecting his declining consistency and availability. At present, the biggest challenge before Naseem Shah is to regain his fitness and return to the field. If he returns fit soon, only then will he be able to cement his place in the team.
