Butler has jointly reached third place in terms of hitting five or more sixes in an innings in the IPL. By achieving this feat for the 14th time, he equaled former all-rounder Andre Russell. Now only Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers are ahead of him in this list.

Other players to do so

Buttler has become the second non-opening batsman in the history of IPL to hit five or more sixes in an IPL innings. Earlier, Suresh Raina had done this in the second qualifier against Punjab in IPL 2014 played at Wankhede Stadium.

It is noteworthy that after being invited to bat first, Gujarat got its first blow on the total score of 19 runs. After this, Butler added 60 runs for the second wicket with captain Shubman Gill, of which 52 runs came from his bat.
