Will Sunil Narayan play against LSG? Big update from team management

Sunil Narine did not play for Kolkata Knight Riders in the high-voltage encounter against Punjab Kings at the Eden Gardens in IPL 2026. Rovman Powell was included in the team in place of star all-rounder. However, now good news has come for KKR. Narayan has now recovered and can be seen playing in the match against Lucknow Super Giants on 9th April.

Narayan also practiced with the team before the match against Lucknow. Before the match, KKR staff member told that this cricketer was suffering from stomach ache but now he is fully ready to play against Lucknow. He also gave information about Varun Chakraborty, who could not play the match against Punjab Kings due to a finger injury.

KKR management has not revealed much about the severity of the injury, so it would not be a surprise if the spin wizard remains out of the match against Lucknow as well. A KKR staff member said, “Sunil Narine had a little stomach pain, due to which he could not play the last match, but now he has completely recovered. He practiced with the team yesterday and today, so he looks completely fit. Varun’s finger is injured. Complete information about this will be given later.”

On the other hand, the wait for Mathisha Pathirana still continues. This Sri Lankan international player will have to pass a fitness test to join the team. In his absence, KKR has expressed confidence in Blessing Muzarabani in the playing eleven, but this Zimbabwe international player has not been able to give any decisive result so far. In such a situation, it will be interesting to see how long Pathirana stays with the team.
