Farmers conference organized in Nangal Sherpur of Karauli

Karauli, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said that farmers are the backbone of the country’s economy. The country will be prosperous only when the farmer is prosperous. He said that our government is determined for the welfare and empowerment of farmers. Our priority is to ensure uninterrupted supply of water and electricity for irrigation to the farmers. In this direction, electricity is being provided to farmers during day time in 24 districts of the state. At the same time, the way has been paved for the Ram Jal Setu Link Project, which will provide ample water for irrigation and drinking water to the farmers of 17 districts.
Sharma was addressing a farmers’ conference at Nangal Sherpur village of Todabhim in Karauli district on Wednesday. During this, the Chief Minister announced the construction of two important routes Kariri-Ghazipur-Bhairoji to Rajour via Merida-Khedi Jaichdi-Machdi and Pathwari to Ghasiram Baba Ashram Kadam Khundi via Matasula-Padli Khurd road and opening of Government College in Nangal Sherpur Tehsil Balghat. He instructed the officials of the Water Resources Department to prepare a feasibility report on the demand for construction of aniquette in Lapawali village. He said that our double engine government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working for the welfare of farmers, labourers, youth and women.
Farmers should adopt modern agricultural techniques:
He said that our government has paved the way for Ramjal Setu Link Project and Yamuna Water Agreement to provide abundant water for irrigation to the farmers. Along with this, work is also being done to strengthen many projects including INGP, Ganganahar and Som-Kamala-Amba. Along with this, the state government is also preparing a roadmap for the development of agriculture in the state. He called upon the farmers to adopt modern agricultural techniques, use fertilizers as per the soil health card and maintain the fertility of the land for future generations.
Youth become employment providers:
The Chief Minister said that the youth should not become job takers but employment providers, for this our government is providing interest-free loans through the youth policy. At the same time, due to the implementation of the MoU signed in the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit, lakhs of youth have got employment opportunities. He said that the accused of paper leak that happened during the previous government are behind the bars today. There has not been a single paper leak during our government.
Samman Nidhi for farmers increased to Rs 9 thousand:
Sharma said that our double engine government is continuously working for the empowerment of farmers and cattle herders. The state government has added Rs 3,000 to the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi making it Rs 9,000 per year. Additional bonus is being given on MSP purchase of wheat, while interest free loan of more than Rs 53 thousand crore is being made available to the farmers. Apart from this, subsidy on electricity bills and more than 2 lakh new agricultural connections have also been issued. He said that to make farmers self-reliant in the field of solar energy, 65 thousand 400 solar pumps have been installed, on which a grant of more than Rs 1 thousand crore has been given. A grant of Rs 957 crore has been given for setting up drip and sprinkler plants.
State government gave impetus to the development of Karauli:
Sharma said that our government has made budget announcements of more than Rs 2,200 crore for the development of Karauli district. The work of high level bridge has started from Salempur on Baloti-Dabra-Shekhpura-Gothra-Barvasan Devi-Narauli road at a cost of Rs 60 crore. The construction work of high level bridge on Nadoti-Shrimahavirji Kheda Road, Gambhir River at a cost of Rs 25 crore has started. He said that many development works are being done including the development of Mothiyapura to Jagar via Harirampura road at a cost of Rs 22 crore.
Agriculture Minister Dr. Kirori Lal Meena said that under the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, the Ramjal Setu Link Project will provide ample water for irrigation and drinking in 17 districts. The state government has taken strict action against those selling fake fertilizers and seeds. He said that the Prime Minister gave PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, which the Chief Minister has now increased to Rs 9 thousand. At the same time, farmers will also be given compensation for crop damage. He said that the state government is working on the policy of zero tolerance against corruption.
Minister of State for Home Jawahar Singh Bedham said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, the state government has taken public welfare schemes to the person sitting in the last row in two and a quarter years. Besides, many works have been done for the upliftment and empowerment of farmers, youth, poor and women in the state. Under the leadership of the Chief Minister, the Ramjal Setu Link Project is coming on the ground.
Before this, the Chief Minister also visited the exhibition of the Agriculture and Horticulture Department. On this occasion, Water Resources Minister Suresh Singh Rawat, MLA Darshan Singh, Hansraj Meena, Vikram Banshiwal, Rajendra Meena, Ramvilas Meena, Divisional Commissioner Bharatpur Nalini Kathotia, IG Bharatpur Range Kailash Chandra Vishnoi, Special Secretary to the Chief Minister Siddharth Sihag, District Collector Akshay Godara, Superintendent of Police Lokesh Sonwal and concerned district officials and a large number of farmers were present.
