Netanyahu’s big announcement, Israel ready for talks with Lebanon
Amidst the increasing tension between Iran and Israel, an important diplomatic initiative regarding Lebanon has emerged. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has given permission to start direct dialogue with Lebanon. This decision has been taken at a time when the ceasefire situation in the area still remains unstable and the situation has not completely returned to normal.
Netanyahu gave instructions to the cabinet
Netanyahu clarified in his statement that he has instructed his cabinet to start direct negotiations with Lebanon as soon as possible. In the official information released by his office, it was said that the demand for dialogue was being raised continuously from the Lebanon side, after which steps were taken in this direction. This initiative is being seen as an attempt to restore peace in the area.
The main objective of this possible talks is to free Hezbollah, the organization operating in Lebanon, from weapons and to establish permanent peace between the two countries. Israel has also welcomed the initiative of the Lebanese government, in which it has been said to keep the capital Beirut free from military activities. However, Iran believes that Lebanon must be included in any ceasefire agreement, while Israel and the US argue that the agreement was primarily between them and Iran.
Ceasefire between America, Israel and Iran
Currently, a two-week ceasefire is in force between America, Israel and Iran, but due to the ongoing military activities in Lebanon, questions are being raised about its strength. In recent days, Israel has intensified its attacks in Lebanon, which has further increased regional tensions. In such a situation, the decision to start direct talks is being considered a strategic step towards controlling the situation.
Experts believe that if the problems related to Lebanon are not resolved, this ceasefire will not last long. Meanwhile, Donald Trump has also advised Israel to exercise restraint. According to reports, Trump told Netanyahu in his conversation that it is necessary to limit military actions in Lebanon to make the ongoing talks with Iran successful.
