Major administrative reshuffle in Delhi late night: Transfer of more than 20 IAS and DANICS officers

Late night the government made a major administrative reshuffle in Delhi. Under this, a list of transfer and new postings of more than 20 IAS and DANICS officers has been released. Experts say that this step has been taken with the aim of increasing administrative efficiency and expediting government work. The government has given a clear message through this change that improving the quality of public services and administrative processes is a priority. Officers have been entrusted with new responsibilities to take timely decisions and implement plans.

In the administrative reshuffle, the most talked about issue is the posting of two senior IAS officers. 1989 batch IAS Narendra Kumar has been made the new Financial Commissioner of Delhi. IAS Prashant Goyal has been assigned the post of Additional Chief Secretary in the Food and Civil Supplies Department. Apart from this, he will also have many other important departments like power and administrative reforms. IAS Soumya Saurabh has been given the additional charge of Special Secretary along with DM. Sonika Singh has been posted as Special Secretary in DDA.

A major part of the recent administrative reshuffle of the Delhi government is related to DANICS officers. They have been given new responsibilities in important departments like education, jail, transport, revenue and elections. Many officers have been posted on the posts of Deputy Secretary and Assistant Commissioner. The special thing about this reshuffle is that new faces have entered the offices of ministers also. Additionally, some officers have been deployed specifically keeping in mind the preparations for Census 2027, to ensure parliamentary and administrative efficiency in the capital.

In the recent administrative reshuffle, some old orders have also been amended. Especially the old transfer order related to DANICS officer Amit Kumar has been cancelled. Experts say that this entire change should not be seen only as a routine transfer. This is a strategic step to increase the speed of work and accountability in various departments.

The government has also taken care that Census 2027 and other big projects can be implemented successfully in the coming time. This reshuffle clearly shows an attempt to ‘re-set’ the administration and increase efficiency. Overall, the recent administrative reshuffle in Delhi is not just a swap of posts, but a bigger administrative thinking and strategy is working behind it.
